Karen O to perform at 2014 Academy Awards

The 2014 Academy Awards take place on March 2nd and several of the artists nominated in the Best Song category will perform during the ceremony. Among them is Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O, who will perform her Oscar-nominated contribution to Spike Jonze’s Her, “The Moon Song”.

Other performers include U2, who will perform “Ordinary Love”, their song for the film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, and Pharrell Williams will sing his hit single “Happy” from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack.

Update: On February 7th, the five composers nominated for Best Score, including Arcade Fire’s Will Butler and Owen Pallett, will present a suite of music from their respective scores during a concert at the Royce Hall at UCLA. They’ll be accompanied by an 80-piece orchestra and their will also be a discussion of each work, according to The Associated Press.
