Listen: Migos’ new song “Just Wait On It”

on February 06, 2014, 5:25pm

On the back of last year’s irritatingly catchy summer smash “Versace”, Atlanta rap trio Migos (that’d be Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset) secured cosigns and collaborations with upper echelon acts like Drake, R. Kelly, Busta Rhymes, ASAP Ferg, and many more. They’ll be looking to keep the momentum going with the release of their latest mixtape, No Label 2, due out February 25th.

Our first taste of the tape comes with “Just Wait On It”, which sees the outfit reunited with “Versace” producer Zaytoven. While his production this time around doesn’t have quite the same infectious oomph, its barrage of half-hearted drum machines and cheap Casio beats sounding forced, the lads make up for it with their lyrical displays. The clear winner here is Quavo, who swiftly puts down any would-be usurpers with, “We know you stealing the fuckin’ flow/It’s OK cause you know I got the antidote”. What they may lack in playfulness and instant appeal they’ve made up for with a burgeoning confidence as they continue their ascent into the Big Leagues.
