on February 10, 2014, 6:30pm

Nels Cline Singers, the free jazz project lead by Wilco guitarist Nels Cline, will release their new album, MACROSCOPE, on April 29th. Along with longtime members Trevor Dunn and Scott Amendola, the group’s fifth record to date will also feature Cline’s wife Yuka C. Honda on keyboards, Zeena Parkins on harp, and Cyro Baptista and Josh Jones on percussion.

For a taste of their new material, get lost in the LP’s first single, the snaking and electrified “Companion Piece”. Stream it below (via Noisey).

In other Wilco side-project news, Glenn Kotche is readying his first solo album in eight years and Jeff Tweedy is set to appear in an upcoming episode of Parks and Rec.
