It’s been nearly three years since Red Hot Chili Peppers returned with I’m With You and subsequently embarked on a world tour that included an appearance at nearly every major music festival. Last night, the Chili Peppers headlined a Super Bowl pre-party concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and, according to Rolling Stone, the band told the audience it was their “one last blowout” before entering a “period of hibernation.”
However, don’t expect the Chili Peppers to be gone for as long as they were between I’m With You and 2006’s Stadium Arcadium. Rolling Stone adds that the band already has plans for a new record and will headline several foreign festivals next year, including Lollapalooza South America and Isle of Wight in the UK. Of course, they’ll also be joining Bruno Mars during tonight’s Super Bowl Halftime Performance.
Even if Chili Peppers will be M.I.A. for a few months, keep warm by revisiting this absolutely amazing parody called “Abracadabralifornia”.
