In Photos: We Were Promised Jetpacks at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall (3/2)

on March 03, 2014, 2:43pm

Last night, We Were Promised Jetpacks performed to a sold-out crowd at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall. Working off a post-recording high, lead singer Adam Thompson and guitarist Stuart McGachan screamed all night with animalistic urgency, nearly matched by the rest of their Scottish post-rock outfit, who also impressed with gutsy, high-energy. Plenty of favorites were unshelved, but the night’s real treat came with six new songs off the follow up to 2011’s In the Pit of the Stomach. Two of them didn’t even have names yet. As they announced, fans can expect the new LP later this year. Relive the night’s performance with photos by Killian Young.
