Listen: Deleted Scenes’ new song “You Get to Say Whatever You Want”

on March 20, 2014, 5:30pm

D.C. rockers Deleted Scenes have broken off another piece of their upcoming third album Lithium Burn.

“You Get to Say Whatever You Want” follows in the footsteps of the jaunty “Stutter” and shape-shifting “Songs of Leaving Behind”. While soothing, the track’s meeker moments hardly last, as the band repeatedly over-stuff anxiety and tension into the tightest of pockets. As the seams eventually give way, each emotive explosion feels bigger than the last, led by frontman Daniel Scheuerman’s muffled and messy yowl. Take a listen below (via Stereogum).

Lithium Burn arrives on April 15th via Park The Van. In support, the band will soon embark on a US tour this spring.
