Monday blow goats, but there’s always one thing to look forward to: a new episode from Scott Aukerman’s award-winning podcas, Comedy Bang Bang. Whether he’s observing the sordid career of Jesse Ventura, banning Brett Gelman, or referencing Barenaked Ladies on a whim, it’s always a carefree escape from America’s peachy workforce. Today’s quite a surprise, though, as Hot Saucerman invited two musical icons — The National’s Matt Berninger and Old 97’s Rhett Miller — to join in on his brand of anarchic comedy.
While Berninger’s there to support The National’s new documentary, Mistaken for Strangers, and Miller performs a few songs off the Old 97’s new album, Most Messed Up, the real highlight is hearing them riff with Aukerman and regular guest James Adomian. Let’s just say, if someone told me Berninger would be shooting the shit with a faux George Zimmer (of Men’s Wearhouse), I’d call your bluff. Of course, I’d now be wrong.
Listen to the episode here. Laughing mandatory.
