Before Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood unveils his latest collaboration with Paul Thomas Anderson, he’s got plans to revisit the first score he wrote for the director. On August 6th and 7th, he’ll perform his 2008 Grammy-nominated score forThere Will Be Blood live for the first time at London’s Roundhouse.
Instead of working the guitar, Greenwood will play the eerie-sounding electrical instrument ondes Martenot during the performances. He’ll be accompanied by the London Contemporary Orchestra conducted by Hugh Brunt.
Greenwood and Anderson have spent the last few years giving Trent Reznor and David Fincher a run for their reign as best artist-director collaboration. In addition to There Will Be Blood and the forthcoming Inherent Vice, the pair worked together on 2012’s The Master. Below, revisit the trailer for Blood.
