Le Butcherettes announce new album, Cry is for the Flies, stream “Demon Stuck in Your Eye”

on April 14, 2014, 5:30pm

Lately, Teri Gender Bender has been busy with Kimono Kult, the project featuring her Bosnian Rainbows collaborator Omar Rodríguez-López and John Frusciante But now, she’s returned as the fiery frontwoman of Mexican garage rock band Le Butcherettes, abruptly announcing that the band’s forthcoming album will be out as soon as tomorrow.

Following up 2011’s Sin Sin Sin comes Cry is for the Flies, an LP that promises to be “less in-your-face,” and “more inward-looking.” It’s scheduled to be released online tomorrow via Rodriguez-Lopez’s label/production company Nadie Sound Inc, with details and purchase links to be posted  on the band’s Facebook page. A vinyl release is tentatively planned for June.

As a preview, Gender Bender has shared “Demon Stuck In Your Eye”, a stomping rocker with a pretty mean bite. With muscular chords and her confident yelps, the song is a fuzzy, dizzying rush of power and aggression. Listen in below (via LA Times).
