New York musician and producer Jordy Asher, a.k.a. Boots, became a household name after producing a majority of Beyoncé’s stunning self-titled album. Now, Queen Bey returns the favor, guesting on Boots’ latest solo song entitled “Dreams”.
Truly what dreams are made of — mine, at least — the track’s a soulful slow-jam that features Asher’s own croon, and of course, the powerful vocal presence that is Beyoncé. For all the glitz and glamour the pop star diva represents, hearing her belt those sky-high notes just never gets old. Listen to the love song below.
Update: In a new interview with Vogue, Boots revealed himself to be Jordy Asher.
On Facebook, he commented on the track:
So this is the last song on my mixtape. My friend and I recorded it recently and while we were trying to figure out what to do with it, we had an idea.
A while back I promised myself that if I ever had the opportunity to help others, or give back in some way, I would seize it.
A friend recently told me about a non-profit organization called “Day One” here in NYC. In their words, “Day One is the only organization in New York City solely devoted to the issue of teen dating violence.”
I feel that protecting women from these horrible and unthinkable acts should take precedence in our society. I feel passionate about this because if more women knew that safe places existed from the turmoil they experience, it could possibly prevent these situations from occurring or reoccurring.
Every cent made from this song will go directly to Day One
It’s hard to put into words how thankful I am for everything and everyone who helped get this together. I’ve experienced a lot in my life. Good and bad. But through it all, I’m certain every one of those things had to happen to get me right where I am today. I feel very fortunate for that. Thanks for all of your love and support.
