Channeling Daughter’s spectral folk and Explosions in the Sky’s ethereal post-rock, London’s Sophie Jamieson creates music that’s both lovely and urgent, fragile in its tone yet so forcefully passionate in its delivery. The rising singer-songwriter first made her mark with last fall’s Where EP and her debut single “Waterloo”. Now, she returns with a new song called “Stain”.
Deftly balancing the weightless and the weighty, Jamieson conjures a dreamy ambiance where hushed, fluttery vocals dance gracefully beside piercing cascades of tremolo. Here, both darkness and enlightenment are not only able to co-exist, but seem to complement one another perfectly. Listen in below.
“Stain” officially hits stores on May 19th via LuvLuvLuv Records.
