Nirvana will also perform with St. Vincent, Lorde, and Kim Gordon at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

on April 10, 2014, 8:26pm

Update: Watch the clips of Nirvana’s star-studded performance here.

Turns out the surviving members of Nirvana will be joined by a host of leading ladies when they hit the stage at tonight’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. In addition to Joan Jett, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear will perform alongside St. Vincent’s Annie Clark, Lorde, and Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon, according to Cleveland.com and CBS Local.

Presumably, Clark will sing lead on “Lithium”, a song which she has been covering in recent concerts, while Jett could be heard rehearsing “Smells Like Teen Spirit” earlier today.

Clark confirmed her participation during a Q&A prior to tonight’s ceremony. “Nevermind came out when I was 9 and it changed my life. I wouldn’t be playing music without it,” she told reporters. She described being in rehearsals with the Grohl, Novoselic, and Smear as a “surreal moment” and added that “All those guys were feminists.”

Stay tuned for a full report on tonight’s performance. In the interim, watch St. Vincent cover “Lithium” sans Nirvana in the video below.
