Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood to participate in triathlon

on April 10, 2014, 5:15pm

Radiohead are no strangers to helping those in need. In the past, they’ve supported organizations such as Amnesty International, Friends of the Earth, and the Pablove Foundation. Bassist Colin Greenwood — who also serves as Global Ambassador to the Children’s Radio Foundation — will continue the band’s string of charitable works by participating in this year’s Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research Blenheim Palace Triathlon.

According to a Tweet this afternoon, Greenwood entered the event in order to raise funds for his friend Dan Clarkson’s nine-year-old daughter Scarlett, who was diagnosed with the disease in 2011 and has been valiantly battling it ever since.

The triathlon is set to take place on June 7th and 8th in Oxfordshire, UK. For more information, as well as how you can help donate and sponsor Greenwood and the rest of Scarlett’s team, endearingly dubbed Scarlett’s Dragons, visit the official fundraising site.
