Relive the best beer soaked party from SXSW 2014

on April 25, 2014, 3:41pm

It’s been a month since SXSW but the memories, savory smells of BBQ, and sunburn still linger. One highlight was the culmination of the Lagunitas Couch Trippin Tour, which concluded in Austin after stopping by Nashville, DC, San Francisco, and Denver. Allen Stone, The Mowgli’s, J. Roddy Walston & The Business, Those Darlins, and Shakey Graves put on a fine show at the lovely, outdoor Cedar Street Courtyard. And the patrons got to enjoy some special beers that were brewed by a number of musicians and bloggers alike.

The lucky brewers included Allen Stone, The Mowgli’s and Tumbleweed Wanderers. Plus the great beer minds from DC Beer, Beer Street Journal, Kim’s Bay Brews and Good Beer Hunting with some melodic and critical input from FILTER Magazine, Brightest Young Things and your very own Consequence of Sound. Crack open a Little Sumpin Sumpin and take a moment to checkout this recap of the show, the burlesque dancers, and the freaks on stilts.

The friendly team over at Lagunitas – who are also Consequence of Sound’s newest Chicago neighbors – also put together a nifty mixtape for those who were not able to make it out or who wish to relive the memories. Give it a spin here and be sure to make it to Austin in 2015.
