Watch: Jeff Tweedy on Portlandia

on April 04, 2014, 4:24pm

This season of Portlandia has already featured TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe and two appearances by St. Vincent. Last night, Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy joined the every-growing list of cameos for Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen’s IFC sketch comedy show. Tweedy played himself in a skit about two micromanaging record executives who have a differing definition of folk music. Watch below (via Stereogum).

Last night’s episode also featured Maya Rudoph as the singer of a fictional band called Bahama Knights. Plus, there were sketches revolving around a Beatles documentary, concert wristbands, and the tedious experience that is attending a live performance.

Next up for Portlandia: Josh Homme. As for Tweedy, he’ll return to TV later this month with an appearance on the season finale of Parks and Recreation. He’ll be joined by members of The Decemberists and Yo La Tengo.
