DIIV’s Zachary Cole Smith hasn’t released new music since his debut full-length, Oshin, back in June 2012. This summer, however, the singer will embark on a U.S. tour during which he’ll workshop offerings from the project’s forthcoming sophomore LP. Following a one-off gig with Phoenix in June, the 14-date jaunt spans most of July and includes an appearance at Pitchfork Music Festival.

In an interview with NME last fall,  Smith said that the new album would be both “poppy” and “aggressive”, adding, “I feel like on the next record I can push the envelope there. On the next record, I can push the envelope in a bunch of different directions. It’s definitely going to be a darker record based on how my life has been personally, since the last record came out.”
