Zach Braff has shared a new trailer for his forthcoming film, and Garden State follow-up, Wish I Was Here in anticipation of its July 18th release. Not only are there quirky and heartfelt shenanigans (as in every Braff-related project), but the trailer also features a new song by The Shins.
Coming in around the one-minute mark after swirling synths and electric guitars, James Mercer’s unmistakable croon soundtracks what’s sure to be the twee, probably unbearable, hit of the summer. According to a tweet from Braff himself, The Shins wrote the unnamed song specifically for the film.
Along with The Shins’ contribution, the forthcoming Braff-curated soundtrack will tug on indie heartstrings with a reported collaboration between Cat Power’s Chan Marshall and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, in addition to a new, original song from Bon Iver.
