Pretty much every episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is appointment television, but Monday, May 12th will prove extra special. Jack White and Neil Young will appear on the show together; not only will they sit down to chat with Fallon, but Young will also hit the stage for a performance, hopefully with White in tow. As an added bonus, Louis C.K. will also guest that night.
Though White is gearing up for the release of his own new solo album, Lazaretto, Monday night’s appearance will come in support of Young’s new covers album, A Letter Home, which was recorded at White’s Third Man Records studios, inside a 1940s-era Voice-o-Graph recording booth. White himself is featured on two tracks.
It will mark Young’s first-ever appearance on a Fallon-hosted program. Something tells me he might also duet with Fallon during the episode. But that’s just my prediction.
Below, listen to Young’s cover of “Needle of Death”, which appears on A Letter Home.
Note: An earlier version of this story noted that White will be performing with Young. At the moment, White is not confirmed to perform.
