Listen: Gold-Bears’ peppy new song “Yeah, Tonight”

on May 07, 2014, 2:00pm

On June 3rd, Atlanta’s Gold-Bears will release their sophomore album Dalliance via Slumberland Records. The follow-up to 2011’s Are You Falling in Love includes lead single “For You”, as well as their latest offering, “Yeah, Tonight”.

While “For You” had the punk energy of Superchunk, “Yeah, Tonight” is a blast of punchy power-pop. The vocal interplay between frontman Jeremy Underwood and guest singer Emma Kupa (of the now-defunct U.K. indie-pop act Standard Fare) is both frantic and earnest, their voices bouncing between the array of cheerful, shimmering arrangements. The track serves as the album opener, and judging by its energy and charm, Dalliance should be a frenetic rush from note one.
