Stream: The Pains of Being Pure at Heart’s new album Days of Abandon

on May 07, 2014, 10:20am

Brooklyn indie poppers The Pains of Being Pure at Heart will release their third album, Days of Abandon, on May 13th via Yebo Music. In anticipation, it’s streaming in full below.

Spanning 10 tracks, the album was produced by Andy Savours (My Bloody Valentine, Sigur Rós, The Kills). It’s preceded by two lead lead singles, “Simple and Sure” and “Eurydice”.

In an issued statement, singer Kip Berman discussed his desire to move away from the sound and style of 2011′s Belong. “I didn’t want to make Belonger,” he explained. “This album was a chance to step back from that universal style of songwriting to something that was far more personal, more in keeping with my original ideals. I wanted the music to be joyful and full of light, even if the subjects were often dark.”

Pre-orders for the album are ongoing.
