Say what you will about Lana Del Rey’s music (because lord knows we have), but she’s always done some interesting things in the music video department. “Video Games” was like a skateboard video combined with an art school collage; “Summertime Sadness” featured a sweeping love story, with Del Rey’s tragic partner portrayed by actress Jaime King; and “National Anthem” presented a retelling of the love story between JFK and Jackie O., with ASAP Rocky stepping in as the 35th President.
Now, Del Rey’s unveiled the video for her Dan Auerbach-produced single “West Coast”. The stylish, black-and-white clip captures Del Rey and a bunch of other good-looking people sauntering around the beach. And, like a nod to her own music, which blends old-world style and modern pop, she strikes up affairs with both young and old lovers. Watch below.
“West Coast” is the lead single off Del Rey’s new album Ultraviolence. For more sounds, check out Auerbach’s alternate mix.
