BET Awards 2014 in Video: Beyoncé, Jay Z, Lionel Richie, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, and more

The 2014 BET Awards took place on Sunday night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, with performances by Beyoncé and Jay Z, Lionel RichieLil WayneUsherNicki Minaj, Pharrell Williams, Iggy Azalea, and John Legend, among others.

Pharrell kicked off the evening’s proceedings, joined by surprise guest Missy Elliott. The pair performed “Come Get It Bae”, the G I R L track featuring Miley Cyrus, and Elliott’s “Pass That Dutch”.

Lil Wayne took the stage next, beginning with a snippet of his new single “Krazy” before launching into “Believe Me”. Later in the evening, Wayne joined Chris Brown and Travis Barker for a performance of Brown’s single “Loyal”.

Usher started his performance with a rapid-fire dance medley of his many past hits, including “Nice and Slow”, “Confession”, and “U Remind Me”, before delivering his latest single, “Good Kisser”.

Rising rapper Iggy Azalea joined T.I. for “No Mediocre” before going solo and showing off her chart-topping single “Fancy”.

Meanwhile, Minaj herself hit the stage on a motorcycle, performing her single “Chiraq”. From there, she stepped out on to a rather Alice in Wonderland-esque set and crooned through “Pills N Potions”.

Lionel Richie (not to be confused with Lionel Ritchie) was honored with a Lifetime Achieve Award. Following a tribute performance which featured John Legend and Ledisi, Richie himself took the stage and sang “Easy Like Sunday Morning” and “All Night Long”.

The ceremony concluded with a pre-taped video of Beyoncé and Jay Z performing “Partition (Remix)”
