on June 15, 2014, 12:46pm

James Blake hit the Bonnaroo stage for the first time this weekend, but it’s what he said backstage that has us really excited. In an interview with Billboard, Blake revealed that he is halfway done writing his third studio album, the follow-up to 2013’s Overgrown, and is eying an early 2015 release.

Blake also revealed that he’s been writing with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and Kanye West, as well as a undisclosed third collaborator he’s “really excited about.” He cautioned, however, that he’s unsure what material will make the final product.

Meanwhile, Blake has a few more festival slots scheduled, including appearances at Glastonbury and Pitchfork Music Festival Paris.
