Lady Gaga’s scrapped “Do What U Want” video was “an ad for rape”

Among one of the more cringeworthy moments of Lady Gaga’s Artflop was her joint performance with R. Kelly on Saturday Night Live, during which the two simulated a passionate sex scene while performing their collaboration “Do What U Want”. Turns out the whole thing could have been a lot worse.

According to Page 6 of The New York Post, Gaga and Kelly filmed a corresponding music video for the song. Enlisting noted photographer Terry Richardson to serve as director, the video reportedly sees Kelly playing a doctor, Gaga his patient, and eventually, things gets really uncomfortable:

Gaga asks Kelly, “Will I ever be able to walk again?” The singer replies, “Yes, if you let me do whatever I want with your body.” The not-so-good doctor then adds, “I’m putting you under, and when you wake up, you’re going to be pregnant.”

Ultimately, the video was scrapped, probably because, as a source for The New York Post noted, “Gaga had a video directed by an alleged sexual predator, starring another sexual predator. With the theme, ‘I’m going to do whatever I want with your body?’ It was literally an ad for rape.”

Gaga, never one to shy away from shocking content — was reportedly dismayed by the video’s non-release and wrote a scathing letter in which accused her label of betrayal.

Lucky for Gaga (?), TMZ has since obtained a short clip of the video for all to see. It definitely seems to live up Page 6’s description, as Dr. Kelly and patient Gaga get close while surrounded by a group of scantily clad nurses. Watch below.
