U.K. crooner Jessie Ware returns today with “Tough Love”, the first single off her forthcoming sophomore album. The track, which she first previewed via Instagram, was debuted in full on Zane Lowe’s BBC 1 Radio Show.
Here, Ware struggles with a relationship that she can’t quite shake off. “You have me crying out, crying out for more”, she sings over bubbly, bite-sized synths, her voice a soaring, anxious whisper. The track was produced by BenZel (aka Benny Blanco and Two Inch Punch), who previously worked with Ware on “If You Love Me”.

Serving as the follow-up to 2012’s excellent Devotion, Ware’s sophomore LP sees her reunited with producers Kid Harpoon and The Invisible’s Dave Okumu. The album will also feature a collaboration with Ed Sheeran.
