DOOM is no stranger to collaborations, having teamed with the likes of Madlib, Danger Mouse, and most recently Earl Sweatshirt, Flying Lotus, and Jneiro Jarel. His latest partnership is with 17-year-old New York rapper Bishop Nehru. Later this year, the duo are releasing a full-length album, NehruvianDOOM, via Lex.
“Darkness (HBU)”, is the first official preview of the upcoming release. Backed by DOOM’s horn-heavy production, Bishop Nehru raps precisely, saying “This life is like a mystery, look like the worlds end to me/ Today I’m in the industry, next I’m in the history.” Its hook sounds straight out of Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star and A Tribe Called Quest’s discography and the whole thing is as promising as Nehru’s debut Nehruvia mixtape.
