Nick Oliveri announces new solo album, Leave Me Alone

on July 18, 2014, 9:50am

Since his departure from Queens of the Stone Age in 2004, bassist Nick Oliveri has kept busy with a pretty impressive list of projects. He’s fronted his own metal group, Mondo Generator, and shared the stage with the likes of Motörhead, Turbonegro, and Moistboyz, along with the controversial reunion of Kyuss! Lives. He even found time to make peace with QOTSA, performing backing vocals on last year’s …Like Clockworkand also appeared during a recent show in Portland, Oregon.

Now, Oliveri’s prepping the release of his sophomore solo record, Leave Me Alone, due out in September via Schnitzel Records. The album follows his 2004 vinyl-only solo debut, Demolition Day, as well as his 2009 acoustic covers LP, Death Acoustic. (Half the tracks on Demolition Day would later appear on a split EP with Mondo Generator.)

Oliveri self-produced and plays every instruments on the record. That said, he’s not entirely alone, as the album boasts a number of guest guitar players. That list includes Phil Campbell of Motörhead, Dean Ween, Bruno Fevery of Kyuss Lives!, and several contributions from Marc Diamond and Blag Dahlia of Dwarves.

Oliveri has a number of upcoming dates, both solo and with his new band UNCONTROLLABLE, including an opening slot for QOTSA’s super spooky Halloween show. Consult his full schedule below.
