Paul McCartney helps man propose to his girlfriend during NY concert

on July 07, 2014, 3:40pm

Following a minor health scare last month, Paul McCartney is back on his feet and has resumed his normal, everyday awesomeness. In fact, this week alone he’s teamed up with Johnny Depp for a new music video and — get this — even helped one avid fan propose to his girlfriend.

At Saturday night’s show in Albany, New York, his first concert since falling ill, Macca played cupid after spotting the couple’s unique signs from the stage. The woman’s sign said her boyfriend wouldn’t marry her until he met McCartney. Meanwhile, the boyfriend’s read “I have the ring and I’m 64.”

McCartney brought the couple on-stage during his second encore and helped the two lovebirds officially seal the deal. The boyfriend, his wish now fulfilled, belted out a verse from The Beatles’ song “When I’m 64” before getting down on bended knee to finally pop the question. The crowd of 13,000 erupted with applause as the woman happily answered “yes” into the mic.

All in a day’s work for the former Beatle, right? Below, watch footage of the aww-dorable proposal.
