on July 29, 2014, 10:35am

TV on the Radio have announced the long-awaited follow-up to 2011’s Nine Types of Light. Entitled Seeds, the band’s fifth album to date will arrive this fall through Harvest Records.

In an accompanying statement, frontman Tunde Adebimpe said: “We’ve been through a lot of stuff in the past few years that could have stopped the band cold, but I’m glad we got it together and took stock of the unique connection we have between each other because the record is, 1000%, without a doubt, the best thing we’ve ever done.”

Below, watch a teaser video for the album, along with fan-shot footage of the band performing a new song at BottleRock Music Festival earlier this year.

Today’s announcement marks a surprising change in stance for TVOTR, who previously said they were no longer interested in releasing full-length albums. In the months since that proclamation, they’ve released a pair of standalone singles: “Mercy” and “Million Miles”.
