On Cupid Deluxe, Dev Hynes’ latest album as Blood Orange, the New York City-based musician enlisted a small army of musicians to contribute their talents, including girlfriend and Friends frontwoman Samantha Urbani, Chairlift’s Caroline Polachek, Queens-based rapper Despot, and more. One of the most memorable cameos, however, came from London rapper Skepta, who guested on the track “High Street”. Rather than just contribute a verse, Skepta raps throughout the whole song, with Hynes only popping in to sing the hook. Now, that song has an accompanying video of its own.
Directed by Lucy Luscombe, the visual is set in Hynes’ birth home of London. While more subdued than the showy dance party that was the video “You’re Not Good Enough”, its moving visual portraits of Londoners are enough to make it memorable. Watch it below (via SSENSE).
