In April, indie-rock maestro and all-around chill bro Mac DeMarco released Salad Days, an easy-going record full of breezy love songs and clean-toned guitar antics. One of the album’s tracks, “Chamber of Reflection”, has now received a music video and, like most DeMarco clips, it’s a weird one.
The video, which DeMarco jokingly claims is, “an honor, Al Pacino has directed our newest video”, follows the sad journey of a woman wearing a Homer Simpson mask. Her trek is met by psychedelic, low budget visual effects, and soundtracked by a slowed version of “Chamber of Reflection”. While the song already meandered at a relaxed paced, its “chopped & screwed” new look gives it a syrupy lethargy. Watch it below.
