With their video for “Get Hurt”, the title track to their upcoming fifth studio album, New Jersey rockers The Gaslight Anthem provided the soundtrack for some passionate dance routines. The band once again makes use of dancers in the video for “Rollin’ and Tumblin'”, only this time around, it’s an all female chorus line decked out in Dia De Los Muertos face paint. Their wild, fervid movements provide an added sense of intensity to the gritty alt-rock anthem.
Both “Get Hurt” and “Rollin’ and Tumblin’” share a general story arc and a certain aesthetic value, which leads me to wonder if they’re just part of a larger concept. One that asks, “Are The Gaslight Anthem some sort of piped piper, turning audiences into undulating masses of booty poppin’ and hip shakin’?” Ponder that as you watch below.
Get Hurt the album is due out August 19th via Island Records. For more sounds, check out “Stay Vicious”.
