Not to be confused with the defunct Seattle-based ’90s act or this Mongolian band, Chicago’s The Lemons make saccharine and playful indie-pop. Their three song Lemoncita EP clocks in under four minutes, but those 240 seconds are densely packed with fun and infectious little ditties that recall twee and C86-era jangle pop
“Lemoncita”, the EP’s opener, is a breezy, jaunty minute and a half of bubblegum pop. In its Jordan Speer-directed music video, the song receives a retro video game treatment, complete with a multicolored world full of beer cans, pizza, and puppies. Watch it below.
