Listen: Evian Christ remixes London Grammar’s “Strong”

on August 07, 2014, 2:09pm

We haven’t heard much from U.K. producer Evian Christ since his Waterfall EP back in March. Perhaps the recent G.O.O.D. Music signee has been too busy fielding work requests from Drake and Rick Ross? Or coming up with “Otis Redding-style” beats for Kanye West’s forthcoming album? (If so, that’s OK — the sooner new Yeezy comes, the better.)

This week, however, Christ emerges from the studio to offer up a piece of new music: his remix of London Grammar’s dramatic song “Strong”. Although it’s an arguably left-field choice for a reworking, the rising producer pulls it off well, spinning the soaring original into a scrambled and twitchy beast. Listen in below (via Pigeons & Planes).

And here’s the original for comparison:

In related news, London Grammar recently announced a lengthy North American tour in continued support of their excellent LP, If You Wait. Check out all those dates here.
