It was only a few weeks ago that New York’s Ryn Weaver made her debut with “OctaHate”, an explosive single written and produced with the help of Charli XCX, Passion Pit frontman Michael Angelakos, Cashmere Cat, and Benny Blanco. Weaver continues to make her mark in the pop world, returning this week with another euphoric number called “Promises”.
“Never meant to break my own promises,” she sings regretfully over glimmering waves of Manners-esque synths. Here, Weaver proves she wields just as much emotional stamina as pop star power. Listen to “Promises” below (via FADER).
“Promises” is off her forthcoming debut EP of the same name, due out later this year on Benny Blanco’s new imprint, Friends Keep Secrets.
