Pop starlet Charli XCX has shared the video for “Break The Rules”, the bombastic lead single to her forthcoming sophomore album, Sucker. The clip actually marks the second time the 22-year-old singer’s taken a trip back to high school, following the Clueless-referencing clip for her Iggy Azalea collaboration “Fancy”. Only this time, she isn’t stuck as poor ol’ Tai Frasier.
As the leader of a gaggle of school girls, Charli takes a pre-prom shopping trip to a lingerie store in a graffitied school bus. There’s also a reference to another famous high school film, but I’ll let you see for yourself as you finish up this morning’s algebra homework.
Watch it below. The video features cameos from actress Rose McGowan and Kitten frontwoman Chloe Chaidez.
Sucker is due out October 21st via Neon Gold/Atlantic Records. For more, check out “Boom Clap”.
