Watch: The New Pornographers debut new song “Dancehall Domine”

on August 14, 2014, 10:20am

Thus far, we’ve heard two songs from The New Pornographers’ forthcoming Brill Bruisers: the album’s title track and “War on the East Coast”. Our latest preview actually dates back to a secret show the band did in Vancouver in July. During the set, which sadly lacked both Neko Case and Dan Bejar, the New Pornos debuted “Dancehall Domine”. Watch CBC Music’s footage of the performance below (via Pitchfork).

The video also features a brief interview with A.C. Newman. Of the new album, he said: “I think the voices melded together much more seamlessly than ever before. I think this record is closest to what I always wanted us to be, where it doesn’t really matter who’s singing.” He added, “I never wanted us to be a band where we were taking turns singing.”

Brill Bruisers arrives August 26th via Matador Records.
