on September 24, 2014, 9:15am

Bruce Springsteen has announced the release of a new box set compiling remastered versions of his first seven studio albums.

Entitled The Album Collection Vol. 1 1973-1984, the archival set begins with 1973’s Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ and includes 1973’s The Wild, The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle, 1975’s Born to Run, 1978’s Darkness on the Edge of Town, 1980’s The River, 1982’s Nebraska, and 1984’s Born in the USA.

Each album has been remastered from their original analog tapes by engineer Bob Ludwig, who worked alongside Springsteen and longtime engineer Toby Scott over the course of the process.

The box set also includes a 60-page book featuring rarely seen photos, memorabilia, and original press clippings from Springsteen’s first decade as a recording artist.

It will be available in digital, CD, and vinyl formats beginning November 17th via Columbia Records. Pre-orders are now ongoing.

(Ed. Note: I wonder what he has in store for his second day as a senior citizen…)
