On September 9th, Interpol will release their first album in over four years, El Pintor. The 10-track album, which is currently available to stream in full, finds the New York alt rock mainstays recapturing the gutsy immediacy, anthemic overtures, and adventurous spirit that made their early catalog so compelling.
That may explain why “The Depths” was left on the cutting room floor. The album’s newly revealed bonus track feels almost sedated in nature, with the band methodically churning together the low rumble of unassuming percussion and the quiet burn of low-key guitars.
