Ryan Adams is well-known around the late night TV circuit — just ask David Letterman. But with two albums to support (his self-titled LP and the garage punk 1984 EP … make it three if you count the three-track Jacksonville EP), Adams saw fit to make an appearance on a daytime show, too. He stopped by Ellen this morning to deliver a performance of his single “Gimme Something Good” and give everyone in the audience a copy of Ryan Adams. Watch the replay below. (Ed. Note: Ryan Adams is probably the first person ever to wear a Black Flag T-shirt on the set of Ellen.)

In related news, Adams recently appeared on NPR’s “World Cafe”. In addition to delivering the first-ever performance of “The Door” from his yet-unreleased Blackhole, he also performed a ridiculously fantastic cover of Foreigner’s classic “I Want To Know What Love Is”. Audio of the performance has since found its way online, and you can hear him turn the schmaltzy ballad into a tender burner below.
Adams will return to late night on Thursday when he visits Conan. That appearance coincides with the start of his next leg of North American tour dates, which you can find here. At recent live shows, Adams been known to jam with the likes of Bob Mould and Johnny Depp, so you never know who will pop up on this latest stretch.
