Aside from the random Buffy the Vampire Slayer Halloween project or low-key electronica collaboration, London singer-songwriter Emma-Lee Moss, aka Emmy the Great, has been rather quiet since the release of her 2011 album, Virtue. Three years later and it looks as though that’s finally about to change as Emmy’s just shared a brand new song called “Swimming Pool”.
Lovely and enchanting, “Swimming Pool” sees Emmy exploring a richer, more full-bodied sound complete with warm, lush waves of guitars and the gentle bubbling of synths. Although her musical arrangements have evolved slightly, the UK troubadour still retains the poetic lyrical nature of her past releases. She reflects on a new love, saying: “Love is something that I always thought I could never go inside/ Now I’ve seen you here and I don’t know how I even used to be alive/ Can I stay here for awhile? Watch you until my heart unwinds?” Listen in over at Emmy the Great’s official website.
