Foo Fighters declare war on scalpers with North American stadium tour

on November 18, 2014, 5:11pm

Foo Fighters have a North American summer tour in support of their new studio album, Sonic Highways. The massive jaunt is comprised of three separate legs stretching from July to October and includes high-profile gigs at Boston’s Fenway Park, New York’s Citi Field, and Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park. This is in addition to previously announced gigs at Washington, DC’s RFK Stadium on Fourth of July and Chicago’s Wrigley Field.

According to a press release, the jaunt is dubbed “Beat the Bots”, because Foo Fighters will be holding a special box office pre-sale on November 22nd. “Fans sick of Scalper-BOTS programmed to clog online queues and snatch up huge amounts of tickets to resell them will get first shot at tickets to these shows.” Fans are advised to visit the band’s website for a list of box office locations.

The band has tagged UK rockers Royal Blood for primary support on the tour, though Boston post-punk veterans Mission of Burma will perform at one of the two Fenway Park shows.

Check out the full schedule, along with the tour’s incredible poster, below. The Foo’s docket also includes dates in South Africa, South America, and Europe, including several festival gigs.
