Freddie Gibbs was the alleged target of a shooting in Williamsburg, Brooklyn early Tuesday morning, according to the New York Post. The Gary, Indiana rapper had just finished performing at Rough Trade NYC and was sitting in a black SUV when shots were fired.
Two members of Gibbs’ entourage were reportedly injured in the shooting, but neither seriously wounded. Gibbs himself was left unscathed.
The Post reports that a single gunman was responsible for the attack in what’s being described as a purported rap beef. “They tried to kill Tupac. They tried to kill me,” Gibbs told The Post outside the club. “I’m still alive.” He also posted this to Instagram:
As of now, no arrests have been made.
