on November 17, 2014, 12:20pm

On December 9th, Ghostface Killah will release his 11th solo album, 36 Seasons. A concept record about a “Staten Island vigilante inspired by a quest for personal retribution and bent on saving his community from the grips of crooked authority and urban decay,” the LP is preceded by its lead single, “Love Don’t Live Here No More”, a heartfelt lament with a decidedly retro soul beat. Now, the Wu-Tang Clan mainstay returns with a another taste of the album in “The Battlefield”.

Enlisting rappers Kool G Rap and AZ along with crooner Tre Williams, “The Battlefield” is a gritty number about life on the streets. “These streets were my playground once” he raps. But now “there’s crackheads on every corner/ Kids in the schoolyard smoking marijuana.” Listen in below (via Pitchfork).

Ghostface Killah will also appear on Wu-Tang Clan’s new album, A Better Tomorrow, out December 2nd. He’s also teaming with BADBADNOTGOOD for a collaborative record due out January 17th.
