Porcelain Raft, the indie pop project from New York City-based composer Mauro Remiddi, has shared a new track entitled “Closed Eye Vision”. In a statement, Remiddi described the song as “a little desert prayer I recorded with one mic and a piano. Something about Joshua Tree, Don Quixote and Dinosaurs.”
With its sparse but lovely arrangement and sub-two minute runtime, “Closed Eye Vision” feels more like a stunning introduction rather than a fleshed out song. Here, Remiddi laments, “If my words could travel fast enough/ To reach her now, to reach her now…” While there’s no evidence the track is part of the follow-up to 2013’s Permanent Signal, it’s still both heartbreaking and beautiful on its own.
