Billy Corgan has premiered another track from Smashing Pumpkins’ upcoming album, Monuments To An Elegy. “Tiberius” follows a similar sonic path to that of its predecessor, “Being Beige”. Both begin rather gently and earnestly, in this instance with the light flutter of piano, before launching into a Gen X-pleasing barrage of chunky guitars, Corgan’s dynamic wailing, and extra brazen drums. Unlike “Being Beige”, though, “Tiberus” takes time to fold back into the quieter moments, helping to add more power once the momentum and volume swing back upwards. Listen in below.
Due out December 9th, Monuments to an Elegy is the first of two new albums from the Smashing Pumpkins due out over the next year.
