Usher’s new song “Clueless” is available exclusively via Honey Nut Cheerios boxes sold at Walmart

Now part of a complete breakfast … uhh, Usher?

Starting today, the R&B star’s latest song, “Clueless”, will be available exclusively via — wait for it — select cereal boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios found at Walmart stores nationwide. Like a tamed version of Willy Wonka’s “Golden Ticket” game, consumers will have the chance to find boxes containing a prized download code for the new track.

The promotional gimmick follows Usher’s Honey Nut Cheerios commercial back in August, an odd and unexpected clip that also happened to announce the title for his eighth studio LP, UR. For what it’s worth, as much as I enjoy the hearty cereal as much as the next person, I feel that so many others have way more appealing tag lines fit for an artist as dynamic as Usher (“They’re Grrrreat!”, “Snap! Crackle! Pop!”). At least mascot Buzz The Bee’s got some slick moves?

While you look up the closest Walmart locations, check out that Usher/Cheerios commercial below.

“Clueless” is reportedly a standalone track and won’t be included on the forthcoming UR. That album, which was originally set for release this year, is now expected to arrive sometime in 2015 and features cameos from Nicki Minaj, Drake, Pharrell Williams, Diplo, Ed Sheeran, and Skrillex, among others.
