Beck and Beyoncé nominated for 2015 Grammy Album of the Year

on December 05, 2014, 9:54pm

Beck and Beyoncé lead the list of nominees for Album of the Year at the 2015 Grammys.

The inclusion of Beck’s Morning Phase is easily the category’s biggest surprise. The singer-songwriter previously earned Best Album nods for 1996’s Odelay and 1999’s Midnite Vultures, but has never before won in the category.

Beyoncé, meanwhile, earns her second Album of the Year nomination with her self-titled fifth album. She was previously up for the award in 2009 for I Am… Sasha Fierce, but was beat out by Taylor Swift.

Other nominees in the category include Sam Smith for In the Lonely Hour, Pharrell Williams for G I R L, and Ed Sheeran for X.

The rest of this year’s Grammy nominations were revealed earlier today and you can see the full list here.

The 2015 Grammy Awards take place on Sunday, February 8th, 2015 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS.
