Justin Townes Earle shares song “Looking For A Place To Land” — listen

on December 22, 2014, 9:30am

Earlier this year, Justin Townes Earle released one of his most open and vulnerable works yet with Single Mothers. But that was only half the story. The record was originally conceived as a double album before Earle saw the second half form its own separate identity. Now, Earle’s full vision is coming to fruition with the companion piece, Absent Fathers, out January 15th via Vagrant Records.

With his latest single, “Looking For A Place To Land”, Earle carries on with the emotional vulnerability he established on Single Mothers. Stripped down to just vocals and guitar, Earle relays feelings of exhaustion and finding someone to rely on. When he gasps for breath between lines, his voice quivers and shakes. It feels like he could break down at any moment, but somehow holds it together through the end.

Listen in below.
