Billy Corgan recently embarked on a world tour in support of Smashing Pumpkins’ new album Monuments to an Elegy. For the most part, these engagements have come in the form of intimate one-off performances, but last night, the band played to a much bigger crowd. With guitarist Jeff Schroeder, Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk and The Killers bassist Mark Stoermer filling out the lineup, the Pumpkins hit last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. They performed “Being Beige”, which you can replay in the video below (scroll to the 33:00 mark).
Smashing Pumpkins have just a handful of dates left on their 2014 docket. They’ll next hit San Francisco, followed by Vegas and KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas. Next year, they’ll play Lollapalooza’s trio of South American festivals in Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. No word if the band plans to embark on a more full-fledged tour in 2015, but if they do, don’t expect Pearl Jam or Foo Fighters to be tour mates.
